new hair!

The base colour looks black in all of the photographs I've taken, but it isn't -- the bottle said "dark burgundy brown", and that is as good a descriptor as anything: whatever it is, it's gorgeous and rich and I love it. The blonde streaks are a bit more red-gold than blonde. I'm extremely pleased with how it came out, seeing as I did it all myself in the bathroom with my hands sort of covered by plastic bags because all of our latex gloves vanished during the move. Also, I will have punk hair at the folk music festival, which pleases me an inordinate amount. (Also also: I love the smell of dye in my hair. It's ghastly when it's being mixed, but after I've washed it all out there's a lovely strange almost sweet smell and I am very fond of it.)

(And yes, I am wearing glasses. My last pair of contacts finally broke and there was all of this nonsense about having to renew my prescription and not being told important information about three times. I'm getting a contact fitting tomorrow.)

asdjfkl; that's the colour I always look for, because it tends to look amazing on just about anyone. I love it, I love it! I've never been brave enough to streak my own hair, as I'm very picky about the way it looks. :p Haha, I'm so glad that you love the after-smell of hair dye. To me it means new beginnings. :)

Ha ha, those three streaks on my fringe were supposed to be one. See my dyeing expertise. ^-^ But omg yes bleach is terrifying. I had a streak bleached last year, but someone else did it, so this time I was TERRIFIED. But it worked out well and I am so relieved.

After-hair-dye is one of those wonderful nostalgic scents for me, like blown-out birthday candles and asphalt in the rain. ♥
