A prominent character (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_raven_king) in Susanna Clarke's fantastic book Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell, which I keep meaning to post about because it is MADE OF AWESOME. :) If you can find a copy, do have a go at it, it's lovely.
