Feb. 21st, 2006 09:20 pmI am profoundly annoyed because when I uploaded Coldplay's X&Y to iTunes, it came out badly. It skips in odd places--almost all of "The Hardest Part" is obliterated, and the last few songs have annoying skipping noises that perpetuate them--and I don't know why. The CD is nearly brand new and hasn't got very many scratches (I checked). Honestly, my rare Evanescence songs that
lady_moriel burned for me don't skip at all, and that CD is much more scratched--and Richard Shindell's Courier has a great long tear in it, but only "Arrowhead" and "Reunion Hill" (unfortunately two of my favourite songs) skip at all. I shall have to attempt to upload X&Y again. Technology is a fussy thing.
I have finally gotten much acquainted with The Fray and How To Save A Life. Therefore, I finally consider myself ready to buy the various CDs that I most want that I did not get for Christmas (such as The Postal Service and Flyleaf and whatever I've picked up since then; I'm contemplating actually buying the Sleeping At Last album because "Say" is growing on me and their lyrics are spiffingly amazing).
This is a generally pointless entry. Therefore, it should not be on LiveJournal. Oh well. When have I ever obeyed my own rules properly?
Also, I am writing yet another Remus/Tonks fic, because I am disturbingly obsessive & all that. It is framed around Edna St. Vincent Millay's "Dirge Without Music", which is a gorgeous bit of poetry, and also involves Sirius. In a mostly-being-dead sort of way, anyway. I need to write more Sirius fics, but I haven't got any good plotbunnies, except the ickle!Tonks and Sirus mostly-fluff (with bonus angsty ending!) piece I'm pretending to work on. If you lot are really good, I might post a teaser of either fic. By the way, where does one accumulate a fanclub? I want one. It might help me get published & suchness. *sends non-existent fanclub to
tuesday_skyline* Blast, if I had a thousand watchers, I could advertise things & bother people &...things. This entry is beginning to suffer from disjointed randomness.
I had a fairly splendid day: I bought two skirts & made up strange bits of amusing poetry & talked about college. And now I must Not Sleep. G'night.
Because
midenianscholar and I have the best conversations:
"I'm going to sneak up on Charlie and rip his sweatshirt off and throw it in the ocean. ...Rot. That came out so wrong."
