I am wondering whether I should just cut the whole bedimmed battle scene out of The Wise and the Lovely. I summarised the Department of Mysteries and Sirius' death in one sentance, after all, because what happened wasn't crucial to the main ideas of the story. Neither is the battle scene, only the hospital wing sequence after it (and, I suppose, Bill's mauling by Greyback; it fits into the I am not resigned theme and brings Greyback in), and it's already taking up more of the story than anything else--two pages, so far. And it's too bedimmed difficult to arrange. The particulars are confusing me profusely, at any rate. What I'm writing now seems too different from what came before it--it's to-the-moment, rather than sweeping and reflective, narrative, rather than almost vignette-like. Bah. So, how would one go about summarising the whole Battle of Hogwarts in a sentence or two? Blimey! I wish my characters--er, Rowling's, of course; I did not say that, I swear!--would take hold of me the way they did when I wrote the first part of the story.

This is profoundly addictive. I think mine actually looks like me, as I managed to find a facial structure that was both round and pointy-chinned. (Fortunately, my chin is no longer the protuberant oddness that my childhood pictures--which also feature bushy hair and a lack of personal hygiene--display it as.) However, the site is written by people with, er, a poor knowledge of English. So far, alas, I haven't found anything nearly as funny as the "fried crap" and "shicken" my cousin and I found on an Engrish menu.

Just had odd plotbunny concerning Remus posing as a Muggle for employment purposes during the Lost Years. Too insubstantial to write at the moment, and it is NOT (I repeat: NO NO NEVER) a long and involved chaptery sort of thing. I am not good with those, anyway. In fact, I am rather abysmal with them, as my unfinished LotR uber-fanfiction dating back to 2002 will prove.

Plagues. I am, apparently, thoroughly incapable of writing posts on any sort of theme these days. Must write freakishly long and involved essays on things that only people as mad as I will actually read.
