i. Neil Gaiman, beekeeper.
Seriously, what is not awesome about this?
ii. Ten in an absurdly large bow-tie, matching Converses with a tux, adoring the hor d'oeuvres, and beaming at Martha's mother while Martha looks on warily.
iii. Lying on the roof curled in a quilt with Lindt chocolates and an ice cream sandwich (desperate times call for desperate measures) and a great thick book all about what rot American history textbooks are, which made me feel a bit smug because I had better textbooks (were they textbooks? cos they were fun to read and I re-read them many times from third grade on -- or maybe I was just an odd child) and I knew Columbus was a rotten git. (Did not know how racist Woodrow Wilson was, though. Ack. Anyway I haven't properly studied American history since the seventh grade -- much more interesting things to study like world history and church history and the twentieth century and BRITAIN; America =/= The Centre Of The Universe -- and always need a bit of brushing up on the details.)
iv. Leandra! She's finally home, and cosy and cuddly and darling, and we've got her all to ourselves. The cats are very suspicious, but we like having her here. I actually managed to quiet her fussing, which I am still a bit in awe of -- children tend to run away from me with no introduction other than my walking into the room. (Then some of them get older and like being scared of me and call me Shelob.)
v. You lot. ♥ ♥ ♥
vi. Roman numerals. :D
