Well, it's late October, about to go into November, and I tend to really hanker after some appropriately spooky music around now. Spooky doesn't really equate specifically-related-to-Halloween for me (and I pretty much loathe novelty Halloween songs), especially as my musiclust is generally more inspired by the deeply spooky weather than anything else. For some peculiar reason, nearly all of my good spooky or spookily melancholy music is folk music. I reckon this has something to do with the Celtic ballad being the Original Gothic Song (seriously, check out 'I Am Stretched On Your Grave' below--it could almost be a rock song, though it isn't at all un-folky). So, here are some of my favourites, and I'd be thrilled if you lot would send up some of yours, as well, and we can have a grand old music-sharing jubilee, or something.
