I...kind of wrote three thousand words today.

I didn't even mean to, really. First I was going for two thousand, but then I realised that the chapter was about to end, and I knew how it was going to end, so I pushed myself to that point, and by that time I was five hundred words away from 20,000.  -- Those have got to be some of the hardest five hundred words I have ever written. Also, of my three thousand odd words, there aren't very many of them that I like much at all, but: December, I keep telling myself. It's a mess, and trying to fix it as you go will get you the exact same place as your anality in every other writing project has gotten you in the past, namely, nowhere to speak of, and nothing to show for it except the same scene rewritten thirteen times from three different perspectives.

(Still, that exposition explosion at the dinner table has not yet ceased to make me nauseous.)

Today was a rainy Saturday: my favourite. The weather's been balmy for two days now. This is very odd, and I have a dreadful foreboding that we will pay for it come wintertime, and pay well, but I am rejoicing in the warmth anyway. Running outdoors in only a jacket! I got my contacts at last and no longer have to wear my glasses every day (it is a good thing, I have been telling myself, that I finally have attractive glasses), and there was a brief stop at Goodwill where Mum found paper placemats from the 1960s, which are fantastically kitschy and excellent to decorate our vintagey kitchen. (Also I acquired a few intriguing things such as a brocadey vintage dress but that is beside the point.) I got to the library on time for the first time in two weeks, and when I arrived home, Mum had gotten a call from Bicycle Repairman the, uh, bicycle fixing people, saying that the Angelmobile was ready. I dropped him off yesterday. His brakes are nicely sensitive again and the tire is not flopping everywhere and it is so good to be on a bicycle again. But gorblimey do I ever need to raise the seat. How have I been riding it so low? (Quickly, to the Angelmobile, away!)

I really want to go to sleep right now. Hmmhmm.

The other night I accidentally wrote over a thousand words and I didn't even mean to. It's just a little drabble (x10, I suppose) that will probably never find its' way to the eyes or ears of anyone other than myself (or even be finished), but I was nonetheless impressed with myself.

Hurrah hurrah! Even when things will never see the light of day (...as most of what this novel currently looks like never will; if it EVER gets read it will be edited to BITS), there's a fabulous sense of having accomplished something when one writes a lot. Plus, both pens and computer keyboards have this really awesome tactile sensation. :p

oh, you bring an incredible amount of joy into my life. *hugs* I was reading two other entries I'd missed lately, and your happiness is infectious, you know? Your delight in life and the small wonders it brings, and oh. I would say it's inspiring if that weren't so cliché. Oh god, that even rhymed. @.@

Anyhoo, your novel sounds it's getting along excellently, though I'm so excited for the vampires to show up! Excitement! Hopefully none of this Nano business won't stop after November for you, and you'll be up to your neck in editing and you'll still have stories for us. :) And then, of course, there's the inevitable day when it'll be in a finished stage for reading purposes ... but that's too far away to think about, and I won't scare you. la de da.

Re. your "fantastically kitschy" kitchen -- hee! I would actually love so much to sit in your kitchen and bake cookies with you and discuss things over mugs of yummy tea or hot chocolate. <3

And re. 3,000 words, YAY YAY. Very impressive. :D
Enough of that "I don't like the 3,000 words" stuff, too, silly. :P 3,000 words are 3,000 words, and if you are past 20,000 words that is quite the accomplishment in and of itself!

I CONCUR. *kidnaps you*

I am trying to forget how very very awful most of the words I have written are, because, yes indeed, at least they are THERE and I actually have got some material to work with next month. BUT STILL. This story was so much better in my head! :p (Then again, in my head my new favourite character also was not even in it.)

Yay for 3,000 words!

It's a mess, and trying to fix it as you go will get you the exact same place as your anality in every other writing project has gotten you in the past, namely, nowhere to speak of, and nothing to show for it except the same scene rewritten thirteen times from three different perspectives.
AHH I have the same problem! D:

I really want snow this year! *crosses fingers*
Sometimes I feel like there is this invisible weather wall around Maryland that blocks out all the awesome weather (ie, SNOW) :(
