my body and i are not getting along
Sep. 18th, 2008 10:49 pmHave been good in bits, have been not-as-good in other bits. The arbitrary nausea has struck again: I slept till eleven thirty and spent a lot of the later afternoon curled up in someone else's fleece blanket on Dad's chair watching What Not to Wear and reading Orson Scott Card. There was also a Wal-Mart trip with the Angelmobile, because my malady is weird, and vacillates dramatically. Yesterday afternoon with my therapist I felt the closest to throwing up that I have in a while, although that might have been exacerbated by the musty office. This morning, badness. Later, less of the badness. Talking with Hannah and Victoria outside this afternoon, my body felt by and large normal, if a bit tired. I am so sleepy, you guys, it's completely mad. I have been sleeping and sleeping and I just want to sleep more.
Yesterday I went for a walk down to the pond, which is a block or so from the house -- it's a clearly manmade thing, full of geese, and people fish there sometimes. I really don't know how the fish got in there, seeing as it is not a natural body of water, but I think people do catch things occasionally, or there wouldn't be so many of them sitting there with fishing poles in warm weather. Anyway, there's a fantastic rickety wooden bridge and lots of overgrown grass and wildflowers. I listened to Lisa Hannigan's gorgeous new album (seriously, fantastic, you must have a listen) and took pictures; this was quite splendid.
The Wal-Mart trip was, annoyingly enough, due to the fact that last night the USB cord for my iPod promptly and without warning stopped functioning. Moony was low on batteries, even. Grr argh. Without the cord, of course, I cannot charge him or connect him to the computer at all. So today I had to go and spend twenty dollars on something that wasn't even fun. Blehhh. Job, you cannot come soon enough.
