Dear fellow Remus/Tonks ficcers,

Can you lot please write a greater abundance of stories in which it is not constantly implied (or more than implied) that Remus and Tonks are sleeping with each other? It would be much appreciated. Thank you. Also, think about the psychology of this, please. Despite what you think about premarital sex morally, Remus is not the sort to sleep with anyone he is uneasy about his relationship with! He is also one of the absolute last people I can see having casual sex. *headdesk*

Two questions. Firstly, when and how do you theorise a certain Master Sirius Black could have become the possessor of a certain infamous flying motorbike?

Secondly, if you were going to write a many-part series of vignettes centred on Remus, Tonks, and poetry, from their earliest acquaintance during Tonks' childhood (in which Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats is read) to hopefully post-marriage (JKR willing), what would you consider titling it?

Unfortunately, most fanfic writers do not share your morals. (In fact, in the case of some fics I've read, it would be safe to say that the author has very little in the way of morals.) If you do find some, though, please tell me.

As for the title - Changes, perhaps? Because that's what her life is, a series of constant changes. I'm terrible with titles, though, so I can't really help much.

And Mr. Black's bike... I'm not sure - ask Noldo. She'll know (or at least give you a fancrack theory about it).

Well, lady_moriel has a couple (http://www.fanfiction.net/u/851221/), and my friend Rana, who sadly has no LJ, has several, including a lovely series of sketches and vignettes, here (http://www.fanfiction.net/u/803020/), if you haven't discovered them via my favourites on ff.net yet. And of course there's fernwithy. But otherwise, yeah. I've had a massively difficult time finding decent Remus/Tonks fics sans the sex. That's the annoying part about adult pairings. Not to say that one doesn't get a lot of smut with younger pairings, but the good authors don't write it nearly as much. Grar.

I'm terrible with titles too. I usually nick them from other places (read: songs and poems), because otherwise I will sit in front of the computer for hours, tapping the enter key and typing gibberish until I think of something decent. I'm trying to find a bit of poetry that refers to poetry, or poetry read over the years, or the affect of poetry on people's lives, but I have no idea where to look. D'you know of any random quote places that might give me something?

On the first part: word. Because yes, while Remus is busy dealing with Greyback and certain furry-little-problems and whatnot, he's definitely going to find the time and inclination to shag rabbit-esque-ly. For heaven's sake, he was reluctant to get into a relationship of the holding hands variety with Tonks; I can't imagine him sleeping with her at this stagem no matter what the moral viewpoint is.


Someone needs to write Remus/Tonks not-sexual fic. Apart from the approximately 3 people in fandom who do this, that is.

Now that I've got that out of my system - um. Present from friends? Bought it himself with the money he inherited from Alphard? (Irresponsible lad.) Nicked it off of Mundungus, who'd procured it illegally, in exchange for keeping his mouth shut about Dung dealing illicitly in [insert something here]? (Can you tell I find this idea very amusing?)


I could come up with crack-er theories if you give me a while. And terrify the pants off of everyone in the vicinity, I suppose.

Yes! And it bothers me most that otherwise good, canon-wise authors are writing this without a second thought, and nobody's going "um...wait a minute. LOGIC, PLZKTHX!" Also, regardless of moral stance, sleeping with someone who you think you are just going to try to push away anyway is CRUEL, and Remus may be occasionally stupid, but not deliberately cruel. He also tends to really (over-)think things through. *yammers for five more minutes*

*sporfles* Sirius/Motorbike reminds me of the Jack Sparrow/Black Pearl OTP a friend and I came up with, where Jack finds a really drunk or easily intimidated priest who he convinces to marry him to his ship, and somehow he and the Pearl have ickle baby dinghys together. That was the point where friend and I went "um...yikes, let's stop thinking now."

I'm kind of liking the Alphard idea. (Mrs. Black: "You bought WHAT with WHAT?!?!") Now I just have to figure out where the plague one gets a flying motorbike. Unless Sirius, being the brilliant student he is so rarely portrayed as, bought himself a Muggle motorbike and found some way to charm it, a la Arthur Weasley. Because the flying motorbike is just so Sirius.Who else would have ever thought of it? :p
