I. So, [livejournal.com profile] lady_moriel and I were on the phone until twelve-thirty last night, which was basically The Best Thing Ever, except I woke my mum up because I was shut up in my closet for no good reason. (It's kind of cosy in there. Besides, Remus lives there. With his random piles of Time and various newspapers and books he keeps nicking off my shelves, and our vintage Life magazines from the seventies and eighties, and a lot of sandwiches.) Also, we made up the Best ScarletWoman!Ginny Fic Ever, which involves Antarctica and Random Hot Scientists and transfigured penguins and Dead Unimportant People and Molly's Amazing Clock of Eerie Accuracy. (CLOCK: [hand points to SHAGGING RANDOM STRANGER]. MOLLY: Must--go--to--Antarctica!) Also, Sirius uses netspeak specifically to irritate Remus (until he gets bored with typing funnily and finds something else), and we both read the Pony Pals when we were young and were probably vaguely ashamed of it even then. Heeee. AND! We are going to picket for Werewolf Rights!!(P.S.: Il Divo was on instead of Monty Python. AAAACK. *woe* I NEED MY FIX NOW.)

II. I am such a girl. Even without meaning to be, which is, I think, almost worse. Case in point: Saturday, my boots, blouse, and nail varnish all matched. (The varnish, which I found in my closet, is part of my semi-annual attempt to Not Bite Nails. Instead, I peel the stuff off with my teeth.) ERU SAVE ME. (I got really killer red boots for four bucks on Friday, though. The heels sink into the ground when I walk, which feels springy and weird and sort of awesome in a bizarre kind of way. And I got a purple floor-length skirt and something that looks kind of like an English riding jacket.)

III. I'm writing Eagle of the Ninth fanfiction. This is kind of scaring me (not least because I have the utmost reverence for Rosemary Sutcliffe). Is anyone else cool enough to even know what I'm talking about? :D Also, I had to do Wikipedia research for a passing mention in a vignette, wherein I discovered I got something wrong. Ack, historical fanfiction.

IV. L.M. Montgomery is pretty much the literary equivalent of mint and chocolate right now. *fangirls* Yes, I'm on a kick. Even though the first and third Emily books vanished mysteriously from the library two years ago. *cries* Also, I think I might be a Dean Priest fangirl. This is REALLY TERRIFYING.

V. Because I was talking to [livejournal.com profile] lady_moriel basically all night and watched a movie with the family last night, my internet usage has been disgustingly patchy. Am still working on comments & things.

VI. DO NOT SCOLD ME ABOUT THE TIME.

VII: It's Christmastime! I am so absolutely enchanted by this; I must dedicate an entry to it soon.

VIII: I STILL HAVE A PRIDE & PREJUDICE MOODTHEME. *squee*

VIIII: Shut up, I am going to bed. Also, I have a sinking feeling that I am getting the Roman numerals wrong.

Well, I'm home again, the house is disgustingly cold (the floor is cold; I can feel it underneath my stockings), and I'm feeling restless and in need of a shower. Guitar lesson is tomorrow, which is a cheery prospect, as I finally have some new material to show off (I've just about finished polishing my musical rendition of John Donne's 'Song (Go and Catch a Falling Star)'--y'know, the poem that every fantasy author in history has attached to a book someplace, it seems? Anyway, it's very shiny, and I wish I could record it for you lot, but there isn't any chance of that, alas.)

Saturday morning was spent Exacting Revenge, which was delightfully entertaining. Hannah M had had a sleepover with several friends, and during the night, the girls painted poor Eli's fingernails. Sarah and Eli and I banded together for the sake of avenging his dignity, and kidnapped their American Girl's dolls, tied them up, and hid them in places like the pantry and closets and places. I haven't done something so childish in ages, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. (It was all good-natured fun, of course.)

And yes, Monty Python was seen and enjoyed by all. I ♥ the Society for Putting Things on Top of Other Things. Unfortunately, I missed Austin City Limits, when for the first time in months someone was playing whom a) I actually knew, and b) I wanted to see--Sufjan Stevens, who I suspect could do a really excellent live show, considering that he plays, oh, every instrument KNOWN TO MANKIND. (He and Seamus Egan should get together. It would be the Best Show Ever. Seriously. They could duel on banjo, and maybe someone could drag in Bela Fleck for the fun of it. I would pay a lot to see that.) Grrr. Maybe they'll replay it sometime.

So, I'm home again, and so is the rest of the family, having had, it appears, Great Fun, although I feel rather as though I have wasted my Four Hours Alone. (I tried to write and failed utterly. I keep trying, and then the words get stuck and I can't manage to think of what to say next. I have tried about three times to write this one little vignette of a fic that really, really wants to be written, and also contains NO ROMANCE, FINALLY, but it's not coming out no matter now many times I try to sketch it out. Perhaps the bathtub and I should have another session.) The only decently productive thing that I got out of it was AN ICON POST. Yes, really. I know, I have the least-updated icon journal in the history of LiveJournal, which is probably why almost no-one pays attention to it. But these are really pretty photography icons. Yes, precious.

Also, that Remus/Tonks mix I may have been angsting about recently? Is starting to come together. *aghast* But I still need "Different Stars", drat it!

Invest in Malden!!

Er...in other news, today was completely rotten, I was irrationally emotional over irrational things, a frantic cycling through the rain and crazy Saturday drivers proved fruitless, and things were generally a wash, except that I did see Master & Commander tonight, and Monty Python's Flying Circus. ♥ (And blimey, I forgot how fantastically pretty M&C is! Can I hang it on my wall?) Also, [livejournal.com profile] avonleigh made a Remus/Tonks mix!! (I'm vexed that she beat me to it, but in my defense, I haven't got a particular song that is pretty much integral to mine. Also, I'm vexed because there isn't any record of Millay's "Dirge Without Music" being...put to music. In which case the title would have to be changed. Ack.)

By the by, the whole music exchange thing of the last post is still very, very open. *is totally not hinting. at all.*

BURMA!

So, I'm reading about Monty Python's Flying Circus on Wikipedia, and trying not to scare anyone with freakish outbursts of laughter / glee. THE BEATLES WERE ALL MONTY PYTHON FANS. *fangirls* Could Eric Idle being the Narrator / every two characters or so in the brilliant parody documentary The Rutles: All You Need Is Cash have anything to do with this? (Best. movie. ever. Really. My cousins and I quote from it constantly. "Oh, dear, there's a rat up my leg!", and "...very bad Spanish for 'have you a water buffalo?'", and "I've taken tea! And biscuits, too!", and "I'm shocked. And stunned.", and whatever else I've forgotten. At the time I saw it my Beatles knowledge was absolute zilch, other than 'Yellow Submarine' because I'd seen the movie, and it was still hilarious, even if I didn't get all the in-jokes that had my dad and aunt suffocating in hysterics over.)

Er. Yes. And now I am reading the list of every episode aired ever. Even this is wildly entertaining. 'The Society for Putting Things on Top of Other Things'?

Bother. I want my television and my high-speed internet back.

(LOST in THREE WEEKS! *had weird dream involving Kate and Sawyer playing cards and eating potato chips in the Other camp while being totally not bound and gagged, and Jack moping, and Charlie and Claire showing up at the Other camp, and regrettably No Desmond At All*)
